Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how GoOrLose ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the GoOrLose mobile application and related services (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
Account data: name, email address, hashed password, timezone, account creation date.
Commitment data: your scheduled training days, stake amount, cutoff time, pause history, and check-in history (success or miss per day).
Location data: during an active check-in we collect GPS coordinates, accuracy, and a mock-location flag to verify you are inside your chosen gym geofence. We do not collect location when you are not actively checked in. We do not sell or share raw location data.
Payment data: payment is processed by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID, a Stripe payment method ID, card brand, and last 4 digits. Full card numbers never touch our servers.
Device & usage data: app version, device model, OS version, crash logs, and approximate IP-derived country for fraud prevention.
2. Why we collect it
- To operate the Service (verify check-ins, process penalties, distribute pool winnings).
- To secure your account and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
3. Legal basis (EEA / UK users)
We process personal data on the basis of (a) performance of the contract between you and us, (b) our legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service, and (c) your consent for location and notifications.
4. Sharing
We share data only with the processors required to run GoOrLose:
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing.
- Our hosting provider — database and application hosting.
- Push notification providers (APNs, FCM) — delivery of reminders.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers.
5. Retention
We keep account and commitment data for as long as your account is active. On deletion we remove personal data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to retain (e.g. payment/tax records kept for up to 7 years).
6. Your rights
- Access, correct, or export your data.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children
GoOrLose is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, hashed passwords, and follow industry practices. No method is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
9. Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
